Intermediate Exhaust Pipe Failure @ 359870k

Ok, not bad... My intermediate pipe has somehow separated from the muffler on my way to NYC last night to see the Rockefellar Christmas Tree.

It was fortunately resting on the chassis and not dragging. I was able to limp her home to Pennsylvania nice and slow... And LOUD! Can't say it wasn't embarrassing. Each time I hit a bump, even a slight distortion in the roadway, it annunciated a large clanging of banging metal.

So unfortunately my trusted family mechanic Burnzy's of Bartonsville is closed for christmas eve and won't reopen until TUESDAY! The thought of bringing my car to anybody else makes me feel like I am cheating on my mechanic lol. However, it is Christmas eve, and I really don't want to take an extra day off from work on Tuesday after being on vacation this past week. I'm sure there is a pile of work waiting for me at my desk.

So here I am at Firestone. A great place for my tires, but exhaust work? Hmmmm, they also have free coffee here. Dare i?

After waiting an hour since 9am they just came back with a $289 estimate. A mechanic in NY last night said $200, but that was a mom and pop no name garage that honestly looked a little shady. I decided to go with it here at Firestone cause I really want to be with family in NY today for Christmas eve. Besides, there coffee is pretty good. LoL

Josh, the store manager seems nice and another customer just gave me a good review for Maurice, the mechanic who will be working on my car. Three cups of coffee later, I'm hoping this works out.

I hope my regular mechanic Burnzy will forgive me under the circumstances!!! I feel so scandalous!
